Recommended Litter Beetle Spray Treatment Program Australia

Sundew Solutions recommends that Spinaflex should be used in rotation with BeetleBETA and LarvaBETA as part of an effective litter beetle management program. 

The suggested treatment program for Standard and High Pest Pressure is outlined below:

The following best practice procedures should be undertaken as a minimum:

Inside Shed:

  • Apply BEETLEBETA/LARVABETA 1.5 m up walls and over entire area of shed floor ensuring full surface treatment. Target application rate is 1L per 10 square metres (or 10L per 100 square metres)
  • Ensure the pre calculated allocated volume of product is applied to the shed being treated.
  • Vehicle speed as per pre-treatment checklist.
  • Start application at the walls and proceed to work towards centre of shed exiting once required volume for shed area has been achieved.
  • SPINAFLEX may be applied anytime during the annual cycle to fit in between BEETLEBETA | LARVABETA treatments. It is recommended that a minimum of 2 x SPINAFLEX treatment cycles are applied back to back for good resistance management protocol.
  • SPINAFLEX has two application rates: 1) Standard Treatment, and 2) Heavy Infestation.  Follow the application rates as per SPINAFLEX label.  

Indoor Protection Through Preventative Perimeter Treatments

Effective indoor protection begins with prevention. To minimise the risk of beetle infestations inside structures, Sundew recommends applying BeetleBETA as an external perimeter treatment around the foundations and entry points of buildings. This preventative barrier helps intercept and control migrating adult beetles before they can enter and establish within indoor environments. Regular external applications as part of a proactive pest management program significantly enhance indoor protection.

Outside Shed: 

  • It is recommended that every third cycle clean-out that a full outside perimeter treatment be applied using BeetleBETA 125 SC at 1.5m up the walls and 1.5m out onto the ground be applied around the shed as a residual treatment at the rate of 4mL/1 L water applied at 10 L per 100 m2 not exceeding point of run-off.

Control rooms, insulated wall panels etc:

Apply StarrdustPRO into cracks and crevices and around (not into) electrical equipment at each clean-out. 

Flush them out with StarrdustPRO IGR Insecticidal Dust!

Target cracks and crevices in walls, particularly insulation, which may harbour heavy infestations that are not being targeted in spray treatments.  It can flush out hard to detect infestations of beetles.

  • Start application at the walls and proceed to work towards centre of shed exiting once required volume for shed area has been achieved.
  • In February apply BeetleBETA at the Heavy Infestation rate to walls 1.5 m high and 3 m out around internal perimeter. Treat shed floor at standard BB|LB rate.
  • SPINAFLEX may be applied anytime during the annual cycle to fit in between BEETLEBETA | LARVABETA treatments. It is recommended that a minimum of 2 x SPINAFLEX treatment cycles are applied back to back for good resistance management protocol.
  • SPINAFLEX has two application rates: 1) Standard Treatment, and 2) Heavy Infestation.  In High Pest Pressure situations, follow the Heavy Infestation application rates as per SPINAFLEX label.
