Strong and effective, Spinaflex 133 SC can be an ideal component of your integrated pest management program. It kills both adults and larvae, offers no cross-resistance with other insecticide chemistries, and has different safety profile for humans, animals and beneficial insects when used according to the label.
The Ultimate Resistance Breaker – a World First from Sundew Solutions
Sundew Spinaflex is the world’s first 133 g/L spinosad specialty insecticide treatment developed for litter beetle (darkling beetle). Spinaflex is a further example that Sundew Solutions is a world class leader in research and development for intensive farm situations.
Greater Flexibility with new ‘STANDARD TREATMENT’ and ‘HEAVY INFESTATION’ Label Options for Litter Beetle Poultry
Sundew Spinaflex 133 SC Insecticide now features an improved label to help poultry growers with serious litter beetle issues. The new improved label gives poultry growers greater flexibility in treatment regimes offering two methods of addressing issues based on pest pressure:
1. Standard Treatment
Apply as 1 metre wide bands to the floor under feed lines and in 0.5 metre bands along the edges of the poultry house.
2. Heavy Infestation
Apply to all floor surfaces at 1 L spray mix per 30 metres square.
What is Spinosad’s Mode of Action in Spinaflex 133 SC?
The active ingredient in Sundew Spinaflex 133 SC is natural spinosad. Spinosad is a natural substance comprised of two spinosoids –
spinosyn A and spinosyn D (17:3).
Spinosad works through ‘contact’ and ‘ingestion’ by targeted pest insects.
Spinosad binds to nicotinic acetylcholine receptors (nAChRs) in insects – this is a novel mode of action. This is very distinct to other receptors targeted in insects by the active ingredients found in Sundew BeetleBETA and Sundew LarvaBETA insecticides. Thus, there is no known cross-resistance between the chemistries developed and supplied by Sundew Solutions for poultry growers.
Spinosad kills insects by hyper-excitation of their nervous system.
New Greater Fly Control Versatility: ‘Residual Treatment’ AND ‘Fly Baiting Treatment’ on Label
Sundew Spinaflex 133 SC boasts greater flexibility when treating house fly infestations in intensive farm situations (poultry, beef, dairy, and horse premises) with two treatment methods:
1. Residual Surface Treatment
Sundew Spinaflex 133 SC Insecticide can be applied as a standard residual treatment over surfaces where flies are observed to feed and rest. It is mixed at a rate of 6 mL per 1 L water which is then provides 12 square metres of coverage.
2. Baiting Surface Treatment
A world first product development is the flexibility to turn Spinaflex 133 SC Insecticide into a very efficient fly bait. With the clever addition of 10 grams of sugar per 1 litre of spray mix (6 mL Spinaflex + 1 L water + 10 gram sugar) you create an enhanced bait solution.
