Beta cyfluthrin is a sodium channel activator – it interferes with the sodium channels to disrupt the functions of neurons and causes muscles to spasm, culminating in paralysis and death.  The beta cyfluthrin in LarvaBETA works to control active adult beetles and larvae through contact and ingestion of the active ingredient.

Pyriproxyfen Mode of Action

Pyriproxyfen is an Insect Growth Regulator (IGR) which mimics insect juvenile growth hormones, halting development during metamorphosis and larval development.  It also concentrates in little beetle female ovaries causing non-viable eggs to be produced.  Pyriproxyfen breaks the insect life cycle by disrupting egg-laying and egg hatching as well as stopping juveniles from developing into adult beetles.
